Kerala-based Kitex Garments, the world's second-largest children's garments producer, has landed in trouble after sporadic violence at its workers' camp led to an attack on the local police, injuring at least five officers. The local police told Business Standard that at least 156 migrant workers were detained after the incident and around 50 have been arrested so far. A decision on any possible action against the company will be taken after the investigation.
According to National Crime Records Bureau data released recently, over 1.55 lakh people were killed in road crashes across India in 2021 -- an average of 426 daily or 18 every single hour.
"There is no freedom to the judges to even file a complaint," a bench comprising Chief Justice N V Ramana and Justice Surya Kant said, adding that police or the CBI is not helping the judiciary if such complaints are filed.

Police cited the final post-mortem report that said Ansari died due to cardiac arrest.

DIG R K Mulklick and police spokespersons told UNI in Ranchi that the OC of Sikaripara police station and two constables were killed in the encounter that began at about 0300 hours.
Two policemen, including an assistant sub-inspector, were killed and three others injured when Maoists ambushed their jeep near Milmili river in Gumla district, police said in Gumla on Friday.
